Description:
Quinta da Beloura golf course was designed by American architect Rocky Roquemore, the man behind Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo, and opened in the early 1990s on sixty hectares of flat parkland between Sintra and Estoril, about thirty minutes from Lisbon. More than 40,000 trees, oak, pine, palm, magnolia and eucalyptus among them, line fairways that wind gently through a residential estate now managed by the Pestana Sintra Golf Hotel.
Water shapes the round throughout. The 7th demands a carry over a lake before a second, more delicate shot short of a stream crossing the fairway. The parallel 16th and 17th squeeze play between narrow fairways with a lake between them, and the round closes at the 18th, where the green hides behind the course's largest lake. The layout briefly crosses public streets within the estate, an unusual touch that adds character rather than confusion.
Facilities include a driving range, golf academy, resident professionals and a clubhouse restaurant. The flat terrain makes for an easy walk if you'd rather skip the buggy. Book Quinta da Beloura through Tee Times and pair it with nearby Penha Longa for a varied Sintra golf day.
